As It Is In Heaven, So It Is In Dance

Teaching a girl to dance is teaching her to trust. To be an Ezer, she has to have a trustworthy lead. And then she moves with divinity.

As It Is In Heaven, So It Is In Dance

Get out of your head.

Match your pressure with his pressure. Gentle but not too light. Push, pull. Compression, tension. Lean into each other and then away. Listen to his touch to follow his lead. Move only when he moves. As you reach, don’t land until his weight shifts. Yours is a split-second response, automatic without any thought.

Follow the hands. Watch with your skin’s eyes, your fingers hooked over his. He points right, you go right; he points left, you turn left. Just a finger in the palm of your hand will stir you for a spin. Small yet precise. Trust him to guide you.

Not with his arms, but with his frame, he will place you, with only his hand on your shoulder blade to steer. Gliding as if on ice, he starts you in motion, and you stay in motion until he stops or changes your direction. Tone in the body and alchemic energy transmission make the movement flow like one with its shadow.

In rhythm with the music, timing is synchronistic. You follow him as he follows the music, syncing together beat by beat. Half time, double time, you match the rate like breathing in unison. Trust his rhythm, he is the metronome, even if he moves off key.

He is your eyes, and he will keep you safe. Let him watch for you, and he will round the curves and yield for close calls. Don’t play by memory because he can change the script at any time. When you put yourself in his hands, you tell him you trusts him implicitly. Let him work his magic and he will sweep you off your feet.

Following in Relationships is like Following in Dance.
